For two years I've blogged my journey throughout my past two summers. From Rhode Island to Tennessee and many places in between, I've had the opportunity to step foot on this country's oldest college on Harvard Yard, and push myself through rigorous 3-week pre-college summer programs at Brown and Vanderbilt University.
If you would have told me three years ago that I would have taken on summers like these and that I would have been accepted into the Ivy League Connection not just once, but twice, God knows I would have been cheesing so hard! One moment I was in a library at the mercy of Don, who terrified me at the idea of flying to the other side of the country, away from my family, for about an entire month- the next, I found myself in the hands of a selection panel, whose decision would hold the fate of my summer. What seemed like something impossible became one of the proudest things I get to look back at.
Today, all the work I've put into high school over the past four years has led me to the college journey that I will soon begin! College is something I have been looking towards for so long now and having the opportunity to attend my dream school is an absolute blessing I am humbled to have. After years of dedication, personal growth, and triumph, I am proud to say the next chapter in my life will begin at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Tomorrow I will embark on the beginning of the next four years of my life and am thrilled to share some of my experiences with those walking the same path I did.
It's bound to be yet another amazing summer!
